STATEMENT

More than one million women over the age of 65 live alone. A kind of living death, accepted though not chosen. A generation of women who have fought in the shadows. Many of them never even considered that their fulfillment in life could be anything other than raising a family. They were made invisible in their youth, and they remain invisible in their old age. They are a forgotten generation, and this documentary seeks to show what life is like for those who have nothing left but an empty house to cling to, while they wait—as they have done all their lives.

SINOPSIS:

An ordinary day in the life of an elderly woman who has lived alone for 22 years in the same house. Trapped in her memories, her only window to the world is the view from her home, from where she watches life go by. Time has remained suspended between soap operas, movies, and the few activities her mobility allows. She sleeps a lot during the day and little at night. For 20 years, Concha has resigned herself to a comfortable and quiet living death. In Spain, there are more than one million women over the age of 65 who live alone.
